Burger King's Kids Club Adventures Newsletter Gallery
The ultimate fast food reading material!
As far as I'm concerned, Burger King is right up there with McDonald's when it comes to fast food toys and their effective advertising geared towards children.
In 1990 BK came up with a brilliant gimmick to get kids to come to their restaurants. BK revamped their existing kids club meal program and created the Burger King Kids Club Gang.
The BK Kids Club Gang was a group of fictional cartoon characters that would promote the kids club meal. The gang consisted of 8 colorful and loveable characters:

Kid Vid, Boomer, Lingo, Jaws, Snaps, Wheels, I.Q. and their dog J.D. Each character had their own unique personality which made it easy for kids to pick a favorite (mine was Kid Vid and J.D.). After all, the Kids Club Gang was made for kids. Pretty soon the gang was seen on posters and banners and even on TV in their very own BK commercials. Kids fell in love with the gang and it wasn't long before kids started to drag their parents to BK, just to spend some time with their new "friends."
Aside from appearing on TV commercials, the Kids Club Gang was also featured on their very own newsletter. In addition to the toys that came with the kids meal, BK began offering the Burger King Kids Club Adventures newsletter. With each new toy/new promotion came an accompanying issue of the newsletter.
The newsletters were a hit! I remember loving it as much as the toy. The Adventures newsletter was chock full of activities, fun facts, jokes, riddles ( much like McDonald's
happy meal boxes
). As my dad read his newspaper, I had my very own kids newsletter to read. I was leaving BK with a full stomach, a toy and my very own newsletter.
Unfortunately, like all good things, the newsletter came to an end. The BK Kids Club Adventures newsletter was discontinued in 2000 along with the Kids Club Gang. Actually it was around 1999 that I noticed fewer and fewer appearances of the Kids Club Gang in the newsletter. By early 2000, right before the end of the newsletter, the Kids Club Gang was nowhere to be seen at all. I guess kids nowadays are more interested in Myspace and texting (wow i feel old saying that).
Even though the Adventures newsletter is no longer available at BK and the Kids Club Gang is gone, they can still be seen right here in this gallery (and as it turns out in some Burger Kings around the world like the Middle East). Enjoy!
Note - The following was printed at the end of every newsletter: Burger King Corporation is the exclusive licensee of the registered trademarks BK and the BUN HALVES LOGO. BK Kids Club characters (Kid Vid, Jaws, Boomer, Snaps, I.Q., Wheels and Lingo) are trademarks of BK Corporation. BK Kids Club Adventures newsletter is available free of charge, while supplies last, from participating BK restaurants, and is not available by subscription.
