Fast Food Toys Preservation 101
To preserve them is to love them
Taking care of something that you care about or value isn't a hard task. You love something so you take good care of it. Car lovers wash their cars every week. Shoe lovers go into hysterics when someone spills something on their shoes. Cashmere sweater lovers go the extra distance to make sure their sweater doesn't shrink. Dog lovers spend lots of money on their dog's grooming bill. You get the picture.
So of course fast food toy lovers preserve their fast food toys. Or at least they should.
Fast food toys are amazing in my opinion but they're definitely not indestructible. Like all things, if you don't take good care of it, it ain't gonna last. With all that said, let's take a look at what we could do to preserve our beloved toys.
Must-Have # 1
Ziplock Plastic Bags!!!
Ziplock bags are on my list of incredible inventions ever. They're convenient, durable and extremely cheap (especially if you get them at a discount store where everything is 99 cents). There are many different brands. Go buy whatever is on sale and stock up. Ziplock bags are ziplock bags. They come in different sizes too. I don't go by the ounces or that weighing system. As far as I'm concerned, there are small ziplock bags and large ziplock bags. :)

Once you have your trusty ziplock bags in hand, it's quite simple. Take your fast food toys and put them in the bags - just like you would with a ham and cheese sandwich. Now the beauty of using ziplock bags is that you can see what you have inside the bag without having to take the stuff out. This is where you can get really organized. You can organize your toys by sets, by cartoons, by year, etc. I organize my toys by sets. I keep all toys that belong in a set all together in one bag. This is where having small and large bags come in: small bags to hold smaller sets and large bags to hold larger sets.

Tip: Use a permanent marker and label the bags.
Must-Have # 2
Bins!!!
Like hamsters, fast food toys multiply at an extremely rapid rate. One minute you have a small box full of them and the next you're being crowned Pack Rat of the Year. It's crazy! That's why I can't imagine life without bins. Putting toys in ziplock bags is a good idea but who wants to see a heap of ziplock bags all over the place. No one does (right?). That's why must-have # 2 is a bin. Throw those fast food toy filled ziplock bags in the bin and call it a day. I mean, put those organized ziplock bags into the bin in an orderly manner and close the lid real tight. Voila! No mess!

Now that you have your fast food toys neatly placed in your bin, take your bin and put it somewhere that's dry and the temperature is moderate. I know the toys are in ziplock bags and in a bin but you can never be too careful with mold. Mold ruins everything! A dry area and moderate temperature are key to keeping mold at bay.
Follow these steps and you're sure to preserve your toys. Think about it. All the bad stuff like direct sunlight (which can make the colors on your toys fade), dust, dirt, moisture, etc. are kept out. Enjoy your fast food toys for years to come.
Tip: You can also use bubble wrap, tissue paper and other packing materials to further protect your toys.
